ALS, 1841 October 20 : Washington, to Hon. Mr. [James Fowler] Simmons.

Probably written to the Rhode Island congressman, this letter from President Tyler concerns the case of a Mr. Mallet, whom Simmons felt should be forced to resign. Tyler feels difficulty in "removing a faithful and capable officer for mere opinion's sake."
